  • Description
One player acts as Quiz Master for two players or teams. The Quiz Master chooses a random category for the round. In turn, each choose will secretly choose a question by number. There are eleven questions numbered one through eleven. The questions are of graduated difficulty with eleven being the hardest. If the team answers the question correctly, the value of the question is added to the team's score. If the team fails to answer correctly, the value of question is deducted from the score but a score can never go below zero.(On the television series, both sides were in complete isolation hearing neither the questions nor the answers of the other side.)Neither team knows the other's score and either team may stop the game if it suspects that it is leading. When the game is stopped, the leading team receives $500 for each point difference in the scores. If neither team stops the game before either scores twenty-one points, the team that has twenty-one points at the end of the round is the winner and receives the payoff. In case the game ends in a tie both teams continue the game with their scores reset to zero. The team with the most money at the endgame condition set by the players is the winner.Twenty One is based on the scandal-riddled television series on the same name. The television series was the subject of the 1994 film Quiz Show. - BoardGameGeek
